If anyone on your holiday gift list loves the landscapes of Southern California, they might appreciate a TreePeople holiday tree dedication this year. The Los Angeles-based non-profit “inspires and supports the people of LA to come together to plant and care for trees, harvest the rain, and renew depleted landscapes.” 

For example, since March 2018, the organization has been restoring a fire-damaged area of San Francisquito Canyon in the Angeles National Forest, planting saplings like this (among other restoration work).

For a minimum $25 donation, TreePeople will send a tree dedication card for you. This year’s holiday design is inspired by the Northern Lights; they have a selection of other cards as well.
